Ten Ways to Take Action Now to Make the Beijing Olympics a Catalyst for Change!
- Speak Up! Send a letter to Chinese President Hu Jintao now to help make sure Chinese leaders understand that the situation in Tibet needs action, and that even after the Olympic spotlight dims, the world will be watching.
- Write your president or prime minister, telling them that you are counting on them to take strong action for Tibet even after the Olympic spotlight fades.
- Sign up as a member of Team Tibet - the team of people worldwide standing in solidarity with Tibetans in their struggle to end the occupation of their homeland.
- Act Locally: Tibet Support Groups worldwide have made the 2008 Olympics campaign a key priority. Use the Global Tibet Support Group Directory to contact the Tibet organization closest to you and find out how you can help them make change for Tibet.
- Take Action Online! Make your voice heard with just a few clicks of a mouse. Join an online action list like Students for a Free Tibet's Action Network or the International Campaign for Tibet's email update list.
- Wear Team Tibet gear and show your support for Team Tibet to the world.
- Start your own "Team Tibet." Wear the gear and download an information flyer to give to friends and family. Organize races or sports events as “Team Tibet,” hold a dinner party and ask your guests to become Team Tibet supporters, or organize a screening of the acclaimed documentary film, "The Forbidden Team."
- Know an athlete going to the Beijing Games? Let us know so we can talk to them about simple ways they can show solidarity with Tibet when they are there.
